DPO Services

The role of the Data Protection Officer or DPO, although around for a long time pre GDPR, was mandated under the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force in May 2018 for public bodies and specific processing activities.   In May this year, the International Association for Privacy Professionals (IAPP) reported that over 375,000 organisations had registered DPO’s with over 32,000 organisations being in the UK.  Although a mandatory requirement in some cases, the DPO has proven to be a very valuable asset for an organisation, whether internal or outsourced, mandated or not; they help to guide a business through a myriad of laws and regulations reducing the risk of data breaches and protecting individual’s personal data.  As such, the demand for DPO’s has grown rapidly, to the extent that a Reuters article in February 2018 called them “hot property”.

We have a range of options to suit you and all services are delivered by qualified, experienced professionals.

Our Virtual DPO service provides you with a designated Data Protection Officer who monitors and advises on compliance with GDPR,  DPA18 and PECR. We register ourselves as your DPO with the Information Commissioner’s Office and act as their point of contact for your organisation.  You get telephone and email access to our DPO service Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30,  up to an agreed number of hours each month.  If you need to increase the support for any reason, this can be arranged on a temporary or permanent basis.

This can also be a good interim solution if you would prefer to hire a full time permanent DPO for your business; we can provide you with virtual support whilst our recruitment agency searches for your permanent DPO.  We can then provide an effective handover and ongoing flexible support and training.

Our packages start from £500 per month and are tailored to suit your specific requirements.  You will be matched to a lead DPO who has the most relevant industry experience for your business.

All of our Data Protection Officers are trained, qualified and have experience in Data Privacy, Data Governance, Information/Cyber Security and Risk Management.

Our Outsourced DPO service provides you with a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to manage your data privacy programme,  advising on and monitoring compliance with GDPR, DPIA18 and PECR.  Support will be provided both onsite and remotely and the hours of support and coverage will be agreed at the start of the engagement.  We register ourselves as your DPO with the Information Commissioner’s Office and act as their point of contact for your organisation.   If additional support is required on a temporary or permanent basis, this can be arranged.

Our packages start from £500 per month and are tailored to suit your specific requirements.  You will be matched to a lead DPO who has the most relevant industry experience for your business.

Not all businesses require a mandated DPO (see the guidance below), however, they appreciate the value a data protection specialist can bring to an organisation, through valuable advice and guidance and management of data protection programmes and compliance.

If this is the case, we can provide you with a Data Protection Manager/Lead and this can be on a virtual or outsourced basis.
